Let’s Talk About Space is a truly unique project, combining live music, film and spoken word with stunning visuals and awe-inspiring astronomy.
Since the show’s conception in 2012, its creators Kieran Heather and Chris McGarry have toured Glasgow Science Centre, shared stages with out-of-this-world popsters Sebastian Tellier and Ladytron and even held the UK’s first 100% solar-powered concert at The Scottish Dark Sky Observatory. This year, Let’s Talk About Space is coming to Glasgow Science Festival! Kieran and Chris came down to earth for a chat.
Who are you and what do you do?
Let’s Talk About Space (Kieran Heather & Chris McGarry) is a musical science project that combines astronomy lessons with live music, animation, film and poetry to create an fun, interactive learning environment, suited to both children and adults, and demonstrating that science is far from boring or an exclusive “members only” club!
What brings you to Glasgow Science Festival this year?
We feel very strongly that science education shouldn’t be limited to the science classroom and Glasgow Science Festival is a great event for us to showcase this. Our event at Hillhead Bookclub is an adults only event and is intended to show that it’s possible to learn science… late at night… in a pub… whilst having a really good time!
With the Commonwealth Games just around the corner, Glasgow is gearing up to welcome the world. What’s your top tip for visitors?
Good food: Mother India Cafe
Good coffee: Artisan Roast

Impress us with your favourite science fact. Or joke.
